The need for discussing Belarus’ socio-economic development programme till 2020 was stressed by President Alexander Lukashenko when receiving a report by First Deputy Prime Minister Vasily Matyushevsky yesterday. The programme was prepared mid-last year, and since then basic macroeconomic conditions have changed considerably. The document needs updating. However, the Government should think about the people and production, the President said.

In preparing its vision of the country’s economic development, the Government will analyse more than 12 fundamental factors. Also, according to the First Deputy Prime Minister, Belarus plans to start a new programme with the International Monetary Fund in January-February.
