At a meeting of Alexander Lukashenko with the head of Midea Group Fang Hongbo, the President of Belarus expressed his readiness to support new projects with the Chinese corporation. Ten years ago, the company came to Belarus with direct investments. Together with Horizont Holding Management Company, it began production of microwave ovens and water heaters. The Chairman of the company and the President of Belarus discussed options for promoting cooperation. Chinese investors in the European market are interested in Belarus.
Fang Hongbo noted he was pleased with the results of his visit to Belarus. There is a good reason for expanding China's presence in Belarus. This shows the strengthening of cooperation between Minsk and Beijing, including within the framework of the One Belt and One Road Initiative.
The joint Belarusian-Chinese production is both domestic and exports oriented. In particular, over 80% of microwave ovens produced jointly by Midea and Horizont are exported. This year, the company plans to produce about one million units of products worth 40 million dollars.
