President of Belarus lays wreath at Memorial in UAE today

A key and symbolic event in Alexander Lukashenko’s working schedule was held on the eve of a meeting with the top leadership of the United Arab Emirates.

In the framework of his working visit to the UAE the President of Belarus laid a wreath today at the Memorial Wahat Al Karama. In Arabic, this means Oasis of Dignity. Thus, the Belarusian leader, on behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, paid tribute and expressed deep and sincere respect to the citizens of the Emirates who sacrificed themselves for the sake of the security of their state and peace in the region.

The Memorial was opened two years ago, but has already become one of the most important symbols of Abu Dhabi and the place for the most important ceremonies at the highest level.

The head of Belarus also made a note in the book of honorary guests of the Memorial. Our country considers the United Arab Emirates a key partner in the region. This results in the high frequency of visits at the highest level and their high political and economic significance. The priority is to reach the annual mutual commodity, technological and investment turnover of $ 1 billion. The leaders of the two countries regard space and IT industries, real estate, tourism, geology, food supplies and the development of joint financial instruments for business support the most important spheres of cooperation. During the current working visit of the President a loan agreement for $ 25 million has already been signed for these purposes.
