President visits Minsk and Miory districts

Traditionally, during this hot time the President holds a series of working trips to the regions to personally understand the current problems.

This week the working schedule of the President was held under the sign of agrarian inspection. Alexander Lukashenko got acquainted with the progress of the harvesting campaign in Minsk and Vitebsk regions. Any such trips entail a whole range of assignments on a countrywide scale. The head of state also answered the journalists' questions: how the agrarian sector of the country will be developing.

At the beginning of the week, Alexander Lukashenko met with the governor of Minsk Region. Its 22 districts are located in different climatic zones. In fact, the results of harvesting grain reflect the situation in the country on the whole.

The drought literally ruined the plans of the agrarians. Alas, the weather this year around the world does not stimulate the agrarian records. Belarus will not get half a million tons of harvest as compared to the past year. Nevertheless, it is sufficient for the population, and for the needs of animal husbandry and agro-processing. The state reserve of one and a half million tons will compensate the needs of the food industry.

And, indeed, too hot and unusually dry summer led to huge losses. In order to carry out all field work, the Belarusian economy additionally attracted professional personnel fr om industrial enterprises and educational institutions of the country.

By tradition, Alexander Lukashenko speaks directly with journalists in the field. The President commented on the media opinion on the need to increase grain imports and reduce investment in the Belarusian village.

And at the end of the week Alexander Lukashenko visited the northern region. The President gave an instruction to strengthen the technological and personnel discipline in the whole country. The head of state believes that it is necessary to sow the crops that yield the greatest harvest under the existing conditions.

The President repeatedly suggested creating agroholding enterprises, a structure with a full cycle of production: from the field to the counter. Such companies already exists in Orsha, Glubokoe and Polotsk regions. Integration gives the first positive results.

The Belarusian agrarians already harvested three and a half million tons of bread. Alexander Lukashenko intends to visit Gomel, wh ere he wants to see the super combine and make other trips to the regions.
