This was stated yesterday by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at the annual operational gathering of military officers. The gathering was attended by about three hundred and fifty officers.
The Head of State stresses that double standards invariably dominate the world politics. Redistributeion of spheres of influence inevitably leads to a change in the existing system of international security. Against this background, Belarus should constantly improve the country's defense.
A new type of confrontation - sanction wars – are actively used in the new millennium. When our strategic partners are drawn into such wars, it influences the Belarusian economy, which is one of the most open ones in the world. The President stresses the necessity of serious work to be carried out in order to stabilize the situation.
The military annually summarize the activities of the Armed Forces, as well as coordinate the strategy of further work to improve the country's defense. A draft of a new military doctrine is ready. This was announced today by the Head of State during the meeting. By the end of the year the document will have been considered at a meeting of the Security Council.
