The President has met with law enforcement agencies’ representatives today to discuss setting up an effective national system for public security monitoring. The meeting in the Palace of Independence focused on a project for the integration of isolated surveillance networks. As a result, law enforcement agencies will be able to get automatic real-time situation analysis and instantly report on what is happening. Such systems operate in many countries and have already proved their effectiveness.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs suggested accumulating all information - data from local video surveillance systems, signals from special devices detecting smoke, fire and explosives, as well as from thermal imagers - in a unified center. The complex will include the monitoring system’s software platform and communication channels.
