The President held a meeting with Belarusian ladies, who are preparing for a space expedition.

The main participant of the upcoming space flight Marina Vasilevskaya and her understudy Anastasia Lenkova came to the Palace of Independence. The girls are being trained at the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center. Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the participants of the space program on New Year and Christmas, presenting flowers and wristwatches.

"In case you confuse the time... But I've set the exact Belarusian time," said the head of state with humor. "So, are we going to fly? Or have you changed your mind?" - asked the President.

The girls confidently replied that the plans remain the same and the space flight will definitely take place. "But we will be waiting for you here," said Alexander Lukashenko.

He clarified whether the main participant and the understudy were preparing for the same program. And this is indeed the case. "The most important thing is that there is no jealousy. You will not disappear all the same. You have been chosen out of millions of girls," said the head of state.

The first Belarusian woman-cosmonaut will go to the ISS in March

The first Belarusian woman cosmonaut Marina Vasilevskaya is included in the main crew of the expedition, along with a cosmonaut of Roscosmos, Belarusian-born Oleg Novitsky (commander) and NASA astronaut Tracy Dyson.
