The issue of lifting restrictions on the participation of Belarusian athletes in Russian teams was discussed. Specific steps in this direction have already been taken. Belarusians will not be considered legionnaires in the neighboring country in hockey, football and some other sports. The sides talked about the interaction on the use of sports facilities of the two countries to train athletes.
The meeting turned out to be short, but constructive. There are no fundamental differences between the ministries of the two countries today - especially since the issue of the status of foreign players has been practically resolved.
After the meeting with President of Belarus Pavel Kolobkov, accompanied by Sergei Kovalchuk, went to the Chizhovka Arena, where a meeting of the collegues of the ministries of sports of the two countries was held. Among other things, they discussed the details of organizing the II European Games.
