Belarus’ President Alexander Lukashenko takes part in international conference in Ashgabat

Turkmenistan is celebrating Neutrality Day. Alexander Lukashenko has offered congratulations to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the country’s citizens on this national holiday.

The Presidents and Prime Ministers of many countries, heads of international organisations and numerous representatives of foreign media arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the celebrations and a large-scale international conference titled The Policy of Neutrality: International Cooperation for Peace, Security and Development.

Addressing the conference, Alexander Lukashenko urged Russia and Turkey to make concessions and compromises to conciliate the situation. According to the Belarusian leader, Minsk is ready to continue playing the role of a neutral venue for solving the most serious issues. Confidence should be restored in the global arena, the President believes. As noted by Alexander Lukashenko, the role of small and medium-sized countries in the modern world is increasing, and their contribution to sustainable development, peace and security in their regions cannot be overestimated.

Alexander Lukashenko drew attention to the enormous social support provided to people in Turkmenistan, strengthening their faith in their own future and the future of their native country. In its domestic policy, Belarus also aims at creating an effective national economy, decent living conditions for its citizens and evolutionary transformations while maintaining the state’s social responsibility.
