This was stated by the President at the republican seminar on improving housing and communal services. Improvement of the system of housing and communal services was discussed in the Palace of Independence. Over 250 people attended the meeting, including officials, heads of state agencies and organizations, representatives of local authorities. According to the Head of State, the resolution of communal problems must always be among the top priorities for the leaders of the regions. The industry has done a lot to reduce costs, improve service quality and technology development. According to polls, 66 percent of the population positively assess the work of public services. But almost a third of the respondents give a negative evaluation. The greatest concern is the cost of services.
By 2020, it is necessary to eliminate cross-subsidization. This should be done by increasing the efficiency of the industry. Speaking at the seminar, the President talked about the main problems: building renovation, water quality, waste management, and the search for reserves to reduce the cost of heat supply. As it turned out, it is possible to reduce the cost by 20 percent. Alexander Lukashenko notes that he can not allow for a lack of control in this life-giving industry. The structure of housing and communal services in Belarus should be unified and manageable.
The Head of State urged the participants of the seminar to work actively to restore order in the housing and communal sphere.
