The Belarusian army is almost 65 thousand people, including more than 46 thousand soldiers.
The combat composition of the army in peacetime includes the Army Forces. They are managed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces and are divided into two operational commands: Western and North-Western. The Air Defense Forces are the most numerous in the Belarusian army. Together with the auxiliary units they embrace 11 thousand people. By the way, our pilots have set 15 world records on the climb time on the fighter MIG-29. The forces of special operations include 6000 thousand people. This is the most equipped type of troops.
The Belarusian army possesses 1317 T-72 tanks of various modifications. In June 2017, the newest T-72B3 tanks joined the military units, now they have a stronger power unit and a rear sight of the Belarusian production. 488 armored personnel carriers and 1454 infantry fighting vehicles add up to 1942 combat vehicles.
In the armed forces of our country there are 1079 units of artillery systems.
Among 289 units of multiple-caliber rocket launchers there are six newest Polonaises capable of hitting targets at a range of up to 300 km.
The forces of special operations are the most equipped type of troops, in terms of the latest technology. They are armed with over 50 armored vehicles of various modifications. For example, Volat V 1 is a promising Belarusian development of the defense-industrial complex. Performed on the instructions of the Ministry of Defense with more than seventy percent of the components of domestic production, the armored car passed a full cycle of tests with high performance.
The process of equipping the Belarusian army with new and modernized weapons is not interrupted. Priority is given to issues of military security, construction and development of the Armed Forces.
Belarus does not consider any of the states as an adversary and implements peaceful multi-vector foreign policy.
