President reveals details of KGB officer's death

The tragedy that happened on September 28, when a KGB officer was killed, is being actively discussed in the media and social networks. There are many questions concerning the chronology of events and why the law enforcement officers were without armor vests. In order to avoid speculation, Alexander Lukashenko revealed some details of this high-profile case at a meeting with the Presidential Administration.

"With regard to this situation, the investigation will find out the details", said the head of state. "And may be it is too early to make some assessment based only on some images on the Internet. But, nevertheless, people must be shown who's who."

The President also noted that much was left behind the scenes. Speaking about accusations against special services officers for not wearing the armor vest Alexander Lukashenko said: "That was the first question I asked Tertel when I was informed about the accident. Why were the guys unprotected? You know, you can blame them for that. It was their initiative. Their reasoning was as follows: you know, when we are in full gear and stuff, people get worried, people don't perceive it well, so we made these checks (this was not some special operation!) in civilian clothes. Yes, the police was present, of course, in the uniform. There were no unnecessary people there, so as not to strain the public. What can I say? It's hard to condemn them for that. They just did not want to show themselves off, as they say."

Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus:

I emphasize again: this was not even an operation. The guys were working on a huge area based on the operational information received earlier. They checked an entire area to determine whether some people were involved in terrorist attempts.

As the head of state explained, "they worked from the early hours of the morning checking Rabochy Rukh movement. And we are going to show you the information about it, so that you understood what kind of workers' movement this is. A lot of people were detained until two o'clock. And this apartment was also in the plan as well as several more addresses."

While working, the group was notified from the front desk, saying that there was a call from the neighborhood, where they worked, asking for help. Something happened there, stressed Alexander Lukashenko.  Now we can guess why the call came. Well, the guys looked: "Yes, there is this address. They are asking for help. Something happened there". So they, like good Slavs, good Belarusians, rushed over there, to that apartment. They knocked, no one opened. A second call was made to the police station for help. You saw it all. The door opened, people came in to help, to help the bastards who called from that apartment. There was a man calling, then a woman. Or vice versa. Well, you saw what they were doing at that time. This is not our footage and not only our footage. They were getting ready to shoot. No one was going to die there. They had to show the footage and they broadcasted it in real time to Poland and to America. Clearly, when the guys came in and, as I was told, Dima was ahead of the others and, actually covering the group, ran into the apartment. And they saw the man with the gun for literally a few seconds, as usual ordered: "guns on the floor!" Instead, the scumbag shot at Dmitry right through the heart. And while dying, the KGB officer made two shoots at the murderer.
