Starting tomorrow, the nomination of candidates for deputies and the selection of candidates by initiative groups will begin. Today, Lidia Yermoshina discussed the procedural aspects of the work in accordance with the country's Electoral Code with representatives of the territorial and district commissions of Brest Region.
The Chair of the Central Election Commission of Belarus reported that at the first stages of elections to local councils, there is a clear increase in the activities of political parties and public associations. Nominations from work collectives can already be considered an obsolete stage.
Local electoral commissions should be formed by 3 January. The elections to the local councils of deputies will be held on 18 February. A little over 18,000 people will be elected throughout the country.
