President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko considers statements about the Ukrainian counteroffensive to be a major disinformation. He said this at a meeting with participants of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly on May 18, BelTA informs.

"Before you accuse us of confrontation and expansion of this conflict, we should go back to the negotiating table. We need a decision, a new document to stop the war, and not the talks about counteroffensive," said the President.

The head of state noted that disinformation can take place: "In any battle disinformation is very dangerous. Remember the Battle of Kursk, near Stalingrad, when we successfully misinformed the enemy and won that battle."

"But, I must say, the major disinformation is this 'counteroffensive.' There is no 'counteroffensive,' from my point of view, and there cannot be. It's just madness. Fighting with the ratio of 1:5 in terms of equipment and manpower is madness! But they try to escalate, to wind up the Ukrainians in order to continue and drown us in this confrontation. That's the point on the front today. We can see that. It's right over our fence," the President said.
