President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has arrived on a working visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, whose capital, Bishkek, will host a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State on October 13, BelTA reports. The event will be traditionally held in a narrow and extended format. The head of state will present the position and proposals of Belarus on the most pressing issues of interaction within the Commonwealth.

CIS leaders are expected to adopt a number of joint statements. The agenda item on the establishment of the CIS observer and partner statuses is aimed at expanding the potential of the Commonwealth and enhancing its role in the international arena. A number of amendments to CIS legal acts are also planned, as well as discussion of topical issues on a wide range of topics.

The issues of bilateral cooperation between the countries will also be discussed on the margins of the summit - during meetings, negotiations and interaction between the heads of state.

Ahead of the summit, Bishkek hosted a meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers. Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik attended the meeting on behalf of Belarus.

The CMFA approved four draft joint statements of the CIS Council of Heads of State. Among them is the draft statement on the principles of interstate relations in a multipolar world. The document reflects a common view on the importance of forming a sustainable multipolar world order and states the intention to help build a security architecture.
