The level of economic cooperation between Belarus and Cuba should correspond to the level of political relations and humanitarian interaction. This was stated by Alexander Lukashenko during talks with the Prime Minister of Cuba. They took place in the Palace of Independence before the big talk with the leaders of political parties.
Manuel Marrero Cruz arrived in our country on an official visit the day before. The intensity of mutual meetings and negotiations has increased between Belarusian and Cuban partners. Cuba is increasing supplies of our meat and dairy products (this year we shipped the first batch of dried milk to the region). Since the beginning of the year the export of food products has grown by 74%. These days Belarusian companies are taking part in the Havana International Fair, and new contracts are expected. In general, the trade turnover between our countries has exceeded $10 million for 9 months: it is a three-fold increase compared to the same period last year. But the President is convinced: using the opportunities of the two countries is far from being the limit. The high-ranking guest supports the opinion of the Belarusian leader.
