The current speaker of the upper house of parliament Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, the head of the Centre of transplantation of organs and tissues Oleg Rummo, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Marianna Shchetkina are nominated as candidates to the Council of the Republic. The election itself will be held from August 25 to September 13 at the meetings of the local councils. The results of the elections will be summed up before September 30.
