The Central Election Commission has received applications from another seven initiative groups representing Sergei Zablotsky, Irina Pershina, Zhanna Romanovskaya, Nikolai Statkevich, Anatoly Lebedko, Tatiana Korotkevich and Andrei Konovets. A total of ten initiative groups have been registered with the CEC. Alexander Lukashenko’s initiative group was the first to apply on Tuesday, followed by the initiative groups of Sergei Gaidukevich and Sergei Kalyakin.
The collection of signatures for nominating presidential candidates will begin in a week, on 23 July.
