Belarus committed to protecting children in armed conflicts

Belarus is seriously concerned about the manipulation of the "children's agenda" in the UN. This was stated by the representative of our country at the UN Security Council meeting on combating forced separation and illegal exploitation of children.

According to Pavel Yevseenko, our country strongly rejects any political speculations on this issue.

Pavel Yevseenko, Deputy Permanent Representative of Belarus to the UN:

"Belarus is seriously concerned about the manipulation of the "children's agenda" at the UN and is extremely disappointed by the politicization of Belarus' humanitarian activities in organizing recreation for children from foreign countries in Belarusian recreational institutions. This issue has become a subject of speculation on the part of some European politicians and statesmen."

"At the same time, not a single concrete fact, not a single name of a child who was forcibly transferred to the Republic of Belarus or did not leave the territory of Belarus after rest and recuperation is given. We do not accept attempts of malicious distortion of facts and their free interpretations. We will be happy to receive UN representatives on a visit to Belarus," emphasized Pavel Yevseenko.

All accusations against Belarus are absolutely groundless, as our country is committed to the protection of children in armed conflicts and consistently contributes to the improvement of the humanitarian situation in the world. This position has been and remains unchanged, said Pavel Yevseenko.
