Maslenitsa festivities to take place on weekend near Minsk and in the city itself

All people are invited to the Sports Palace to sing farewell to the winter, play in the open air and, of course, eat pancakes. A large-scale family holiday with folk amusements, various rituals and competitions will take place here at the weekend. The program includes an exhibition-fair of products of folk art masters and performances of folk ensembles, and attractions for children.

The traditional ritual of burning a scarecrow will take place at 4.30 pm on the main day of the holiday (Saturday).
