Today the Academy of Music hosted an award ceremony to honour a new generation of intellectual and creative elite of the country whose talent is admired not only in Belarus.

The celebration of the awardees and laureates of the two special funds, which are under the personal patronage of the President started with an exhibition. The foyer of the conservatory was turned into a large presentation area.  The historical artifacts from the 12th century, and even a robotic brush were on display there. In the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko, young scientists not only presented but also defended their own projects of the future. The winners of special prizes for 2020 include gold medallists of the Mathematics Olympiad, the Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad, the Brazilian Science and Technology Fair, as well as Grand Prix winners of the Slavonic Bazaar and winners of the Delphic Games. The teaching staff was also thanked.

Igor Petrishenko, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus:

It is very important that young people, children, students felt supported. This is an additional incentive for their further creative, scientific research. It gives them, as young scientists, the feeling that these developments are not left aside somewhere, but that they can be implemented in practice in order to develop all the spheres in which they are applicable in our country.

In addition to scholarships and grants, talented and gifted young people have also received titles of laureates, a badge and a certificate signed by the head of state. The two Presidential funds to support talented and gifted young people in our country were established in 1996. Thousands of talented young people have become laureates and scholarship recipients over the past 25 years. The grounds for the awards are academic merit and victories in national and international creative competitions.
