The title of Belarus’ Queen of Spring went to student of the Vitebsk State Technological University Svetlana Gorbacheva.
The results of the Belarusian stage of the international interuniversity contest were announced yesterday at the National Library. Thus, Svetlana along with the three other runner-ups will represent Belarus in the finals of the Queen of Spring contest, which will take place in Minsk in late May.
This year’s pageant featured 13 university representatives from Minsk, Brest, Mogilev, Vitebsk, Grodno and Mozyr. The project organisers - the Belarusian Republican Youth Union - tried to reflect the theme of the Great Victory in the contestants’ performances.
The Queen of Spring contest takes place in five stages. Originally, the crown was claimed by more than 50 female students from 30 Belarusian universities.
