Traditionally, Minsk and Minsk Region lead in this indicator: 1,400 and 980 rubles, respectively. The average salary in Mogilev Region is almost 820 rubles. In the whole country, the real wages in January increased by 7.5%, as compared to the corresponding period of last year. Last month, workers from such areas as air transport, information and communications, financial services and insurance received the highest salary. The salary of public sector employees this year will be at least 80% of the national average.
Irina Kostevich, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Belarus: “The Presidential Decree No. 27 “On improving pay in the public sector” was adopted at the beginning of this year. It clearly states the necessity of keeping the salaries at the present level.”
From May 1, the size of the tariff rate of the first category will increase by 2.5% to almost to 36.5 rubles.
