The improvement of the code on criminal liability is at the final stage, the work on the document is almost completed before its submittal to the parliament.

The head of the Presidential Administration Igor Sergeyenko noted that the draft law meets the current situation in the country and is aimed at ensuring the consistency and balance of criminal legislation and provides for optimization of mechanisms of interaction between law enforcement agencies. The work on improving the law was carried out on the instructions of the head of state. The criminal law must comply with the real situation in the country. It is necessary to take into account the international practice. As the head of state noted at the sixth All-Belarus People's Assembly, people need to see the appropriate law and understand the consequences for non-compliance with it.

Igor Sergeyenko, Head of the Presidential Administration: "The administrative law was improved, which resulted in the adoption of an updated Code of Administrative Liability, which will come into force on March 1.  The next stage was improvement of the criminal legislation - criminal, criminal procedural and criminal executive codes. Specialists from various agencies, lawyers and members of parliament also took part in this work."

Igor Sergeyenko stressed that the work is extremely important both for the state and for ordinary people.  Every point in the new law is important. The fate and life of a particular person ultimately depends on its norms.
