Belarus and Russia are united by common spiritual, cultural and moral values. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State in the Kremlin, BelTA informs.
According to him, the meeting of the Supreme State Council considered the situation in the priority areas of the Union State and approved a number of decisions aimed at further deepening of integration processes.
"Such spirit to intensify work in all directions, the entire range of cooperation is fully shared by both the public of our countries and the people of our states," said Vladimir Putin. - Our countries are united by traditional friendship, common spiritual, cultural and moral values. This is the basis on which we are building the Union State together, and we have already managed to achieve a lot.
The governments of Belarus and Russia are closely coordinating their efforts to ensure macroeconomic stability, said the President. Cooperation in monetary and fiscal and monetary areas is developing, jointly implementing comprehensive measures to minimize the damage from illegal sanctions, cooperation with foreign countries, which work with Belarus and Russia and want to continue this cooperation in the future, is increasing.
"The effectiveness of such joint efforts is confirmed by the growing indicators of mutual trade. Russia firmly holds its position as the largest trade and economic partner of Belarus," said the Russian leader. He supported his words with the data on the growth of the trade turnover between the two countries: in 2021 it increased by 35% up to $40 billion, and in 2022 it will increase by another 12% up to a record $45 billion. "But according to Belarus' statistics it will reach $50 billion including services," specified Vladimir Putin. - "Everyone who takes care of the economy understands that it is a very solid figure for our countries.
At the same time, the volumes of supplies from both sides are balanced, and it is also a very good indicator of the joint work, said the Russian leader.
