The General Prosecutor's Office continues to investigate the criminal case of genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War. By this time, a working group has been created to prepare a draft law on the accused persons involved in war crimes. The purpose of the document is to define the procedure for criminal proceedings against the deceased persons involved in crimes against peace and security of mankind.

Dmitry Brylev, deputy head of the General Prosecutor's Office of Belarus:

“The group is designed to develop a legal mechanism to bring to criminal responsibility those Nazi criminals and their accomplices who, for a number of reasons, including those related to the policies of individual states, have not been brought to trial.”

As noted in the General Prosecutor's Office, after the introduction of appropriate amendments to the legislation, criminal proceedings against the punishers of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War will become possible.
