Lukashenko demands to seriously analyze work of National Academy of Sciences

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has demanded to seriously analyze the work of the National Academy of Sciences. This was stated by the head of state at the meeting on improving the system of planning and control over the implementation of strategic projects, BelTA informs.

The head of state pointed out that over thirty years Belarus has formed a whole network of research institutes in various fields within the Committee on Science and Technology and the National Academy of Sciences. But with regard to the National Academy of Sciences, the President instructed to conduct a comprehensive audit of its work: "The Academy of Sciences should be seriously analyzed in winter. God willing, it will be as the head of the Academy of Sciences reports to us: today they make everything - from drones to milk powder products, which are sold to China. They do everything. Let's see if that's true. I mean electric cars and so on.”

Continuing to talk about the activities of Belarusian scientists, Alexander Lukashenko noted that their research, analytical work, forecasts of scientific and technological progress for decades ahead are certainly needed. "But we must admit that the real sector of the economy does not seek to use the works of scientists on a mass scale for some reason," the President pointed out. - Not all new developments reach production". According to him, not so many really large, breakthrough projects have been created over this period of time.
