ICAO to consider request of Belarus on illegal EU air sanctions

31 января 2022
ICAO is again discussing the "Belarusian issue" today. On January 18, the International Civil Aviation Organization issued a report on investigation of the incident with the emergency landing of Ryanair aircraft in Minsk.

The organization accepted the evidence of the Belarusian side: there was no interception or forced landing or rerouting of the plane by Belarus. Today the ICAO Council is scheduled to consider the complaint of Belarus about the illegal aviation sanctions by the European Union, which were introduced immediately after the incident. In a moment everybody forgot about democratic norms and rules and, without waiting for the results of the investigation, punished the one who was allegedly responsible - Belarus. ICAO must have also come under pressure - it is no coincidence that the trial has been dragging on for almost a year already. And this time the Lithuanian Minister of Transport reported that Poland allegedly has new additional information about the actions on the Ryanair board. Vilnius asked the ICAO to "clarify the report." Where were you before? Well, let's wait.
