Children crossing the border should be under special protection. Cases when pregnant women or moms with babies stand for long periods of time should be excluded, while the stay of minors at the state borders should be comfortable, despite the citizenship and migration status. Representatives of the Belarusian State Border Committee and the international organization for children UNICEF agreed on this the day before.

Rustam Khaidarov, UNICEF representative in Belarus:

“Of course, children who cross the border or are on the border have special needs. Especially migrant children, refugee children, vulnerable children, so to speak. And we hope that with the State Border Committee we could provide this assistance more systematically, and we want to improve the material and technical base with special equipment to work with children.”

Representatives of the State Border Committee and UNICEF agreed to create effective algorithms to respond promptly.
