President Alexander Lukashenko sends birthday greetings to António Gutteres

Today, the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres celebrates his 73rd birthday. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has sent his letter of birthday greetings to the UN Secretary General. 

Alexander Lukashenko: Belarus remains committed to the UN objectives, showing decisiveness in ensuring peace 

The Head of State pointed out that Belarus is committed to the objectives of the organization, showing determination in the most important issues of peace and security. The Belarusian leader expressed his confidence that under the leadership of António Guterres, the UN will be able to restore its reputation as the leading international organization and an expert in dealing with modern global problems.

Belarus remains committed to UN and is resolute in its pursuit of peace 

Belarus is a founding member of the United Nations. Receiving this honorary right was a testimony to the recognition of the contribution of the Belarusian people in defeating fascism during the Second World War, to respect for the memory of the millions of Belarusian citizens who gave their lives and stood up for freedom and the right of Belarusians to exist as a nation with its own history, culture and future.
