The Belarusian Tennis Federation (BTF) has suffered losses for two years of sanctions - about one million euros, said the head of the organization Sergei Rutenko to journalists during a press conference, Sputnik writes.

He noted that the reason to gather on Tuesday, March 5, is not positive - the result of the BTF's appeal against the international federation being considered by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

"We want to tell how it happened and the facts, violations, which were revealed by the court, but were not brought to the case in any way," said Rutenko.

He emphasized that Belarus has made a great contribution to the development of world tennis. At the same time, over the past two years, the BTF has suffered significant losses due to restrictions.

"The damage for two years is almost one million euros. We have asked, in turn, the international federation to compensate us for the damage caused," added the head of the organization.

According to him, it is made up of prize money, which was to be received by the Belarusian teams, as well as increased costs due to the fact that the republic can't host tournaments. In addition, travel costs have risen.

"We also asked to consider the option of reimbursement for the damage we suffered. In response - silence, just silence and nothing else in essence," summarized Rutenko.
