Deputies of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State have visited the Lactis company producing highly efficient and biologically safe new generation medicines and foodstuffs on the basis of human lactoferrin extracted from the milk of transgenic goats.

The federal programme BelRosTransgen was launched in 2003. Prior to that, a herd of goats to produce human lactoferrin was raised at the Lactis dairy plant in Veliky Novgorod and the Scientific and Practical Centre for Animal Breeding in Zhodino. The product has successfully passed clinical trials.
