Belarusian buses have proved their worth in Kaliningrad Region. The region hopes to continue this cooperation. This was said by the Governor of the Kaliningrad region of Russia, Anton Alikhanov. According to him, the growing city and the region need public transport.  The products of the agrarian sector and light industry are available practically in all regions of the Russian Federation.

Anton Alikhanov, Governor of Kaliningrad Region (Russia):

“I give instructions to my trade networks to make sure that they have well-established supply channels from Belarus, because it creates competition and therefore brings down the prices in the stores. Because often, unfortunately, our producers took advantage of the moment when there was no pressure from the Belarusian goods and raised the prices. We have increased our trade a lot over these years. I do not think that's the limit. I hope that our cooperation and our friendship will only grow stronger.”

Anton Alikhanov, governor of the Kaliningrad Region (Russia):

“We would very much like to keep the diversification of economic interaction. But, unfortunately, European restrictions have a very negative impact. We used to buy a lot of Belarusian cement, about 200 000 a year. Now we have to transport it through the ports in Leningrad Region in St. Petersburg. This, of course, does not make it more competitive in terms of price. And we are, frankly speaking, worried about that.”
