ArinaPehterevato represent Belarus at Junior Eurovision 2020

Belarusian broadcaster BTRC decided to select their participant for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 internally. ArinaPehtereva will represent her country on 29 November at the 18th edition of the Contest with the song 'Aliens'.

ArinaPehtereva started taking vocal lessons at 6-years-old. Arina has been taking part and won at many national and international vocal competitions and festivals. She also took part in 'The Voice Kids' and has repeatedly become a finalist in Belarus' national selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.She won about 30 Grand Prix during her creative career as well as the scholarship of the presidential special fund for talented youthsupport.

The song ‘Aliens’ was recorded back in spring. The idea was born against the background of an event that touched every inhabitant of the Earth, the coronavirus pandemic.

ArinaPekhtereva, representative of Belarus at Junior Eurovision Song Contest2020: "The song was compose in spring, when the coronavirus epidemic started in the world. Its meaning is simple: the world has stopped, the borders have closed, people can no longer communicate, come to visit each other, even the Junior Eurovision this year became different. But I believe that the future is in our hands, and it is we, the children, who can save this world, make it better!

The original version will sound in two languages: Russian and English.

The song will be shown to the general public tomorrow on the air of the program "Good Morning, Belarus".

"Junior Eurovision 2020" will be held in a new format

Due to the pandemic, the terms of this year's competition were also revised. To protect the health of young performers, the show will be held in a new format –the performance of young singers will be recorded in advance by each participating country. In total, there are 13 of them. The process of shooting the contest will be held according to a special EBU regulation, which has already been handed over to the companies responsible for their preparation. The updated format of the show will be shown live on two TV channels: Belarus 1 and Belarus 24 on November 29.
