Polotsk to turn into big cultural and educational venue for three days

The celebrations marking the Belarusian Written Language Day get underway in Polotsk on 1 September. The Belarusian Written Language Day in Polotsk embraces three holidays: the 500th anniversary of the Belarusian book printing, the city's 1155th anniversary, and the Belarusian Written Language Day itself. The three-day celebrations start on 1 September with a solemn school assembly with the participation of local authorities, teachers, and school students. The solemn opening ceremony of the Belarusian Written Language Day is due to take place on 2 September.
