President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has set a benchmark of $9 billion for exports of agricultural products in 2024. He said this at a meeting on rural development and improving the efficiency of the agricultural industry, BelTA reports. "This year we should produce 6-7% more and target $9 billion in exports. Is it difficult? Yes. But we must solve these tasks. I appeal to managers of all levels. You should always be short of your success," said the head of state. As the President noted during the meeting, Belarus is among the top five countries - exporters of dairy products and the top 20 leading exporters of meat products, and these are the main products of agriculture. Domestic food is supplied to more than 107 countries of the world, foreign currency earnings from its sale in 2023 amounted to almost $7.5 billion. "And this is with a sharp drop in world prices," said Alexander Lukashenko. Today, according to him, the task is to move forward, to make the work of the agricultural industry more sustainable and its development - progressive. "We have all the opportunities to achieve this," said the head of state. - We know how to do it. You see the catastrophic situation with food in the world. It is clear that the situation will only worsen due to population growth and the problems that affect the population in this or that region of the world.
