Belarus needs to work out a 10-year strategy for the development of ultramodern pig breeding. This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on April 16 at the meeting on rural development and improving the efficiency of the agricultural sector, BelTA reports.

Belarus has decided to build modernized pig farms in 2023. As the President reminded, he supported the government's proposals to build pig farms under a unified project for 100 thousand pigs. "I was assured, there are opportunities to build within the established timeframe, to optimize costs. But we need to think about the future," said Alexander Lukashenko.

The head of state believes that taking into account the practice of Russia it is necessary to calculate and take a course for more efficient, cost-effective large-scale projects. It does not have to be complexes for 300-500 thousand heads, the President noted. At first, it is necessary to carefully study the experience of such large farms, whether in the west or in the east of Belarus. For example, the experience of China, where they are building a multi-storey pig breeding complex.
