Belarus increases exports of sawn timber by almost 40%

Forestry farms in Belarus have increased exports of sawn timber by almost 40%. The trade flows are reoriented to the markets of friendly countries. The results for last year were announced at the board of the specialized department. One of the promising areas is house construction.

Alexander Kulik, Minister of Forestry of Belarus:

“We have not only plans. In January, we supplied about 85 thousand sawn timber for export. Last year in January it was 63 thousand. We supply round timber. The enterprises of the woodworking concern operate steadily. But our main task is to plant quality timber and protect it.”

They are actively introducing new technologies of forestry and hunting, timber harvesting and processing, strengthening the material and technical base.
