The economy of Belarus is coping under pressure from unfriendly states. This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko while receiving a report on the work of the banking system and measures taken to support foreign trade activities, BelTA informs.

The head of state noted that the National Bank mainly fulfills its functions. "As the results in the economy over the last year show, the economy is coping in a difficult environment, associated with the pressure from Western unfriendly states on Belarus. So, the government and the National Bank are coping as well. But this does not mean that there are no problems in this respect. We will discuss these problems frankly, honestly, without blaming anyone," said the Belarusian leader.

The head of state also drew attention to the issue of assistance to business entities in settlements with foreign partners. "Sanctions are sanctions. It seems that we are coping, everything is fine. But, as Russia has recognized it, and we feel pressure from the Americans first of all. And I have drawn your attention and the government's attention many times to the fact that we need to help economic entities, where we can, calmly, without noise, without shouting. I would like to know (this is a question for both the government and the Presidential Administration) whether these functions are being performed. And to what extent the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the National Bureau of Economic Development, is fulfilling these functions?
