The most anticipated event in France - the summer Olympic Games - may be held without the opening ceremony. This is insisted by the security services of the country because of the terrorist threat. We are talking about "a scenario of a coordinated attack on the day of the opening ceremony of the Games in front of the cameras of world television".
According to the security services, a place where several tens of thousands of people will gather could become a tasty target for terrorists. Particularly dangerous are loners who can drive into the crowd by car or, having merged with it, detonate an explosive device or open fire with automatic weapons.
And then the reasonable question is why not spend more of the budget on security. But Europe prefers militarization. Thus, Warsaw continues to arm itself. The U.S. Congress approved the sale of air combat equipment to Poland. These are more than 800 air-to-ground missiles with a range of almost a thousand kilometers, as well as 745 medium-range air-to-air missiles and about 200 short-range missiles. Lithuania will also receive long-range Patriot SAMs. They will be sent already in the summer of the Netherlands. The Ministry of Defense of the Baltic Republic claims that the complexes will be in the country for only a few weeks - for training. Lithuania also cooperates with Italy in the military sphere - it buys tactical military transport planes.
