The European Union, instead of condemning Georgia's adoption of the law "On Transparency of Foreign Influence", should follow suit itself. This opinion was expressed by the political adviser to the Hungarian Prime Minister. According to Balazs Orban, the protection of sovereignty from unwanted foreign influence is not a threat, but a precondition for democracy. "Our intention is not to veto the Georgian law, but to facilitate the introduction of similar laws across the EU," Orban said.
