The earthquakes continue in Turkey. The Belarusian embassy is monitoring the situation with the citizens of our country. Despite hundreds of aftershocks, the rescue operation does not stop in the affected areas. Turkish President Erdogan stated that the number of deaths in the country exceeded 8.5 thousand and more than 49 thousand people were injured. In Hatay province the elements have caused a rise in sea level. The roads in the city of Iskenderun are flooded, machinery is removing rubble in the water.

The search for survivors in Syria is also underway - the number of earthquake victims exceeded 2 470 people, more than 4.5 thousand were wounded. The situation is aggravated by consequences of sanctions, because of them Europe cannot deliver to Damascus cargoes with humanitarian aid, use of special equipment is limited.
