The memory of Soviet soldiers was honored in the German capital. The ceremony took place at the memorial complex in the area of Pankow. Ambassadors of Belarus, Russia, Armenia and Kazakhstan, as well as representatives of local government and community organizations laid floral tributes to the monument to soldiers and officers killed during the capture of Berlin. A plane carried the Victory Banner in the sky over the memorial.

The end of the World War II is traditionally celebrated in Germany, as well as throughout Europe, on May 8. Berlin also celebrates this date as the Day of Liberation from National Socialism.
