Putin says about Russia's gain from sanctions imposed against it

Russia benefits from the sanctions imposed against it, as it acquires additional competencies. Russian President Vladimir Putin said this at a meeting with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, BelTA reports.

The Russian head of state said that he had recently visited two major construction sites in the energy sector (related to gas and gas chemistry). "I would like to say about the restrictions imposed on us. European companies refused to supply equipment and competencies (apparently, they counted on us not having enough). We have restored all competencies. All of them absolutely," he stated. - Huge, world-scale enterprises will be put into operation in the very near future.

The President emphasized that Russia's former European partners themselves say that they have been forced to curtail their work, although they are incurring losses on a huge scale. "Moreover, in some large high-tech companies we have to cut staff by 50% or even 70%. And we are rebuilding. We get additional engineering competencies. This is very good," Vladimir Putin pointed out. - The gain in this sense is obvious. According to him, the Russian side, of course, still has a lot to work on, especially in the field of high technologies, and in many respects this was pushed by the sanctions pressure.
