European Parliament adopts resolution condemning Georgian law on foreign agents

European politicians have joined the protesting Georgians. The European Parliament adopted a resolution condemning the Georgian law on foreign agents. The document says that Brussels should suspend negotiations with Tbilisi on European integration, cancel the visa-free regime and impose sanctions against the country's leadership, including the founder of the ruling party.

Georgian authorities called the resolution a blackmail attempt and promised to pass the law anyway. It is going to be considered in the second reading between April 30 and May 5.
