HC Yunost-Minsk claims IIHF Continental Cup

In a dramatic match at Chizhovka-Arena, HC Yunost-Minsk claimed the prestigious European trophy – the IIHF Continental Cup.

In the fight for the title, Mikhail Zakharov's club played against Nomad Astana from Kazakhstan. Yunost-Minsk played without any serious mistakes and did not allow the opponent to seize the initiative. The final score is 5:2.

On its way to the finals, Yunost-Minsk defeated Sheffield Steelers from the UK and Ritten Sport from Italy.

In addition to the much treasured trophy, Yunost also received the right to play in the Champions League next season.

Now, Yunost is the club with the biggest number of titles in the history of the Continental Cup. Earlier, the team of Mikhail Zakharov claimed the trophy in 2007 and 2011.
