Lapshin: We will go through the period of suspension from tournaments with maximum benefit

The Belarusian athletes will try to use period of suspension from competitions in Paralympic and Deflympic sports for training as efficiently as possible. As BelTA correspondent reports, Igor Lapshin, Director of the Russian Paralympic and Deflympic Sports Center, expressed conviction in this today in Gomel at the Open Cup of Belarus in swimming among the deaf.

Igor Lapshin noted with regret that Belarusian and Russian representatives were cut off from participation in international competitions for almost all kinds of invasive sports. "We will definitely survive this period. And you will surely use this time to bring your sport skills to such a level that you will win all the medals when this whole story is over and we are allowed to compete," he said.

Chairman of the Belarusian Sports Federation of the Deaf, Anatoly Nikitin said that the level of results at competitions of both Belarusian and Russian athletes is always very high. "It is no coincidence that many athletes have won the title of masters of sports, including international class. And even at the Junior Spartakiades the guys show European level results. It shows that our sport is developing. And sooner or later we'll enter the international arena again and show good results," Anatoly Nikitin is convinced.
