Igor Boki rightly becomes one of Summer Paralympics heroes

Belarusian swimmer Igor Boki has rightly become one of the heroes of the Summer Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. In addition to five gold medals won at the London Paralympics in 2012, the athlete has won six more at the Rio Paralympic Games, simultaneously updating both his own and the world record. Boki’s latest medal was scored in the 100m backstroke among visually impaired athletes. In addition to the six gold awards, the swimmer won a bronze one.

The Belarusian team has won a total of 10 medals at the Paralympic Games in Rio, swimmer Vladimir Izotov and wheelchair fencer Andrei Pranevich winning gold and javelin thrower Alexander Triput scoring bronze.

Belarus is located at the 18th place in the medal standings, the leader being China.
