Alina Zmushko brings gold to Belarusian national team on second day of swimming competition in Kazan

Belarusian swimmers won three medals on the second day of the competition in Kazan, BelTA reports.

The second stage of the international swimming competition "Friendship Games" continues in Kazan. During the second day of the swimming event Alina Zmushko has brought a gold medal to our team after won the women's 50m breaststroke final. The Belarusian swam in 29.49 seconds, breaking her own record of 29.62 set the day before. Ilya Shymanovich, the leader of our men's team, won the silver medal in the 100m breaststroke, losing only a hundredth of a second to the winner. Ruslan Skomoroshko, Grigory Pekarsky, Veronica Strashnova and Anastasiya Koryakovskaya won bronze medals in the mixed relay 4x50m freestyle.

In addition, the Belarusian athletes took part in two more finals on Monday. Viktor Staselovich took the fifth place in the 100m backstroke and the Belarusian team of Veronika Strashnova, Anastasia Kuleshova, Angelina Malaschenko and Anastasia Koryakovskaya took the fifth place in the women's combined relay.

On Tuesday at the "Games of Friendship" in Kazan, six medal events will be held, the tournament will end on November 25. Almost 1.1 thousand athletes from 22 countries have applied for the second stage of the international competition. There are 43 people in the Belarusian delegation. Our team won 11 medals: 2 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze at the first stage of the "Games of Friendship", which was held in July in the capital of Tatarstan.
