President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has set a number of key tasks for the new head when agreeing on the candidacy of Yuri Aleksei for the post of General Director of the Belarusfilm studio, BelTA reports.
"As for our film production, it's a misfortune," the head of state outlined the problem. - The demand, I tell you at once, will be very serious. Why? Because so many managers were changed, but there is no result. And the base is not bad, not worse than in other republics, including Russia. Apparently, somewhere we underperformed in the leadership. Maybe we paid less attention to it.
Speaking about the role of cinema, Alexander Lukashenko recalled Vladimir Lenin's statement: "Cinema is the most important art for us." The great Lenin spoke about it, you know it very well too. And it is really true," the President drew attention to it. He emphasized that in terms of ideological and educational impact nothing equals to the cinema. And now movies are watched not only on TV, but also via the Internet.
The head of state noted that he was counting on Yuri Alexei's active work in his new position, but once again warned that the demand would be tough. "We need to produce a certain number of films - different ones, for different categories," the President said. - Maybe follow the Russian way. Of course, there should be less violence."
